Cannabolism.
Okay. This is a Shrunken Head. I know what your thinking...but the answer is no. It is not a real head. :)It's an apple head! Brad and I just made them with the Whipples, and honestly I think we will adopt this tradition from them and do it every year. They are so cheap, and would be fun to make for FHE, on a date, with kids, when your bored, when you have a lot of apples and you don't know what to do with them...etc...basically, there is no bad occasion for making them.
All you need are the following ingredients:
Apples
Lemon juice and salt water mixture
knives
toppings (cloves for the eyes, rice for the teeth, etc...)
Step 1- peel the apples
Step 2 -dip the peeled apple in the lemon juice and salt water mixture
Step 3- Cut a face into them
Step 4- add cloves for the eyes, etc...
Step 5- you can put them in the oven, or we just left them sitting out on our counter and they are drying out.
This is our sweet center piece that we like to call "rose among the leafs with shrunken heads in front of it" . Okay, just kidding. We actually don't really call it that long name, but the leaves we picked up in provo canyon, the flower is from our front yard, and you know where we got the heads! It seems like we just keep adding to our table center piece, but its alot of fun!

HOMEMADE
Everyone loves homemade bread. Me. I love homemade bags. Okay, really just one homemade bag that I made with the help of my "sewing mentor", and good friend, Aunt Linda Slack. She is basically the bomb.com and could sew a house together if you wanted her to. She is that kind of good. Anyways, what you see here is our new, stylish, Diaper Bag. (It wasn't necessarily going to be a diaper bag, but lets be honest, that's the only kind of bag I really carry around these days). Lucy likes it too! If you can't tell it's kind of a silky, chinesey, material. And yes...those are dragon flies on the Handle.

Rhubarb Soda
Rhubarb Soda....discuss.
Since we are starving students we bought a "starving student card". It has a bunch of buy one get one free deals on it for places and restaurants in the the Utah Valley. There is a small section on the card of free things. So last night for friday date night dinner we decided to cash in. We went to the mall for breadsticks, Black Jack pizza for a free pizza, and we polished off the night at Maestros Italian restaurant where we got buy one get one free gelato, but we also realized we were still hungry, so we bought a crepe and and an Italian Soda. They had different options of soda like lavader(we tought that was a color), and cumquat, but we decided on rhubarb. The first sip was nasty. it tasted like bitter seltzer water. We would take a sip, remember it was nasty. Wait ten seconds. Think to ourselves "maybe the next sip will taste better". Take another sip and the cycle would start over. By the end we actually liked it. Brad had a theory that sometimes drinking bitter things help you appreciate life more. Thats deep. Think about it.

Lucy's first race!!!
On Your MARK....Get Set....RUN!!!! So, Pretty much Lucy ran her first road race on Saturday. It was a sweet race called " Race against abuse" and instead of having numbers on the back of our shirts, we got to choose cool quotes about about abuse and abuse prevention etc... It was pretty sweet. We didn't really run for time, but we ran for coolness. And we felt good. Lucy also got a lot of cheers because she was in the jogger. People were impressed because we passed them in the jogger. Yeah. Pretty cool. Brad and I wore our matching Moab half marathon shirts, but purely for intimidation purposes. (We haven't ran a race for a year...sssshhhh). In the end they had a raffel drawing, and we won a five dollar gift card to magelbys fresh, where we immediately went after the race to get all you can eat french toast and huge breakfast burritos. The race was free. We got free shirts, and a sweet gift certificate so basically we are earned five dollars from running that race. OH BABY!
They came...they ran...they conquered!!!
